Organization:

Center of Molecular Plant Physiology ("PlaCe") was founded by the Danish National Research Foundation in 1998 as a "center of excellence" within plant science. It comprises the Plant Biochemistry laboratory, Department of Plant Biology, The Royal Veterinary and Agricultural University (now: Department of Plant Biology and Biotechnology, Faculty of Life Sciences, University of Copenhagen), The Biotechnology Group, Department of Genetics and Biotechnology, The Danish Institute of Agricultural Sciences (now: Faculty of Agricultural Science, Aarhus University) and the Spectrometry Group, Department of Natural Sciences, The Royal Veterinary and Agricultural University.

To meet the long-felt desire of the research groups involved to be localized "under the same roof", the Biotechnology Group belonging to the sector research institute DIAS of the Ministry of Food, Fisheries and Agriculture, has moved to rented research labs and offices at KVL. Thus all research groups in the center are co-localized in the center of Copenhagen in newly renovated labs and offices in the main building at the Frederiksberg campus. The Plant Biochemistry Laboratory is located at 1st and 2nd floor, The Biotechnology Group at 2nd floor and the Spectrometry Unit at the 4th and 5th floor in the building.
