"Pro-Active Plants", a new Research Centre of Excellence has been formed - 22.10.2008

A vast amount of new knowledge about photosynthesis, carbohydrate metabolism, cell wall biopolymers and bio-active natural products in plants has been gained by PlaCe researchers and support staff. The accomplisments of the research centre are well documented through our publications. The Danish National Research Foundation funds their centres for a maximum of ten years. We have been fortunate to have our centre financed for this long and have even been granted an additional eleventh year of funding. The centre grant from the Danish National Research Foundation therefore expires December 31st, 2008.

We are very grateful that continuation and the expansion of the research initiative has  now been ensured by establishment of the VKR Research Centre "Pro-Active Plants". This new research centre of excellence has been granted 25 million DKK from the Villum Kann Rasmussen Foundation for the five year period 2008-2012 and was opened in August 2008. Please follow our research activities at the new site www.proactiveplants.life.ku.dk
